TechNite is the annual celebration of the Roanoke – Blacksburg region’s technology community. It’s an opportunity to network with more than 500 leaders in business and innovation. The evening includes a keynote speaker and awards presentation to celebrate the leaders, innovators, and successful companies within the regional technology community. TechNite Keynote Speaker - Michael Rihani

Michael Rihani is technical product leader passionate about sustainable energy, autonomous vehicles, bitcoin, and delivering happiness.

As an undergraduate student at Virginia Tech, Michael and two other Hokies co-founded right here in Blacksburg. He graduated with a Business Information Technology degree from Virginia Tech in 2008. Over the past decade, Koofers has grown to be the second largest social network on many college campuses, behind Facebook. Last year, Koofers was acquired by a larger, EdTech company.

Today, Michael leads the Supercharger User Experience team at Tesla. Prior to Tesla, he was a Product Manager at Apple and helped launch Apple Pay on the Web, Apple Cash, and Apple Card.

Michael currently lives and works in Palo Alto, CA.

Michael Rihani will deliver the keynote speech for the Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council’s 2021 TechNite. Michael will discuss how the Roanoke/Blacksburg community has played a key role in his success, career, and happiness. He will also discuss why Bitcoin matters for all – individuals, companies, and countries.
