Left of Boom: Proactive Strategies on Disaster Recovery with RISE

RBTC and RISE (Roanoke InfoSec Exchange) come together for a presentation on “Left of Boom” presented by Rob Garbee.  Left of Boom focuses on proactive strategies in disaster recovery and business continuity, emphasizing the importance of identifying and mitigating potential risks before they escalate into crises. The session will start with a brief presentation by Robert Garbee, followed by an open discussion forum to explore best practices and share insights on organizational resilience.

About the Speaker

Robert Garbee is the Director of Information Security at Carilion Clinic.  In this role, Robert is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive cybersecurity program.   He has more than 25 years of experience in information technology and during that time has held positions in information security, information technology and industrial security.   Robert is a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management Information Security and holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certifications.

Robert is the founder of the Roanoke Information Security Exchange (RISE) in Roanoke VA. and has provided commentary for featured articles in the Roanoke Times and for WSLS News 10 in Roanoke, VA.
