Join us for an interactive Cyber Security Forum on Thursday, February 21. Our guest speaker David Raymond will discuss, Hands-on Hacking – Capture The Flag + Kali Linux intro Workshop (BYOLaptop!).
This is a HANDS-ON Cyber Security workshop that will:
-provide a quick introduction to different types of Cyber Security CTF (capture the flag) competitions
-quickly get everyone invited to and logged into the Cyber Range
(requires a laptop with wifi and HTML5 browser)
-jump into a “Jeopardy Style” CTF, with access to a Kali Linux VM for working/solving problems*.
* Linux/bash command line experience is not required, but recommended.
David Raymond serves as Director of the Virginia Cyber Range, a state-funded organization that provides courseware and infrastructure for hands-on cybersecurity education to thousands of students and faculty in Virginia high schools and colleges. David is also Deputy Director of Virginia Tech’s IT Security Office and Lab and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech where he teaches graduate courses in computer networking and cybersecurity.
